Our story began in 2016, when Heather Veitch, opened Gingham’s doors in Yarmouth, Maine. Over 7 years, Heather built a beautiful, comfortable, and welcoming shopping experience in her hometown. When she decided to close her doors, Caitlin approached her with hopes to transition the business to Freeport, Maine. Now located in a sweet standalone building with ample parking in downtown Freeport, Gingham provides a curated collection of women’s clothing and accessories. We have a special expertise in denim, and love to carry colorful, vibrant prints along with the basics you need day in and day out. And of course, you can always find a selection of Maine-made jewelry, art, handbags, blankets, scarves, and more - we love to support local makers.

Gingham staff is knowledgeable when you need it, warm and welcoming, and aim to provide a no-pressure, low ego shopping experience for all women. With free wifi, a kids corner, and fabulous natural light, we look forward to inviting you into our store to shop or simply chill, 7 days a week from 11-6pm.
